Things have been a little bit quiet for me recently, an injury caused by a stupid accident back in June meant that I wasn’t training at all for a couple of weeks.

Since then, Ive been progressing back into training. Ive also moved house and I am no longer living with my old housemates. I think some of the problems with consistency and illness were coming from living in that environment and it wasn’t working for me. So I have gone from living in a house of five to now living with just one other. I’m really enjoying it so far and I think it suits me and my way of living much more.

It would be really easy for me to sit and complain about all of the unfortunate things which have happened to me whether they were my fault or not, but that wouldn’t achieve anything. I’m focusing on appreciating the amazing training environment that I am now in down here in Loughborough and the people I am surrounded by. I’m now taking steps and going in the right direction and I am putting my energy into getting myself where I want to be. I’m excited for the opportunities that I still have ahead of me and I am grateful that I’m now healthy and still have time on my side.

I could swim a couple of weeks after I became injured so that was the first thing to come back. I’m pretty much back to where I was swim fit wise. Over the past couple of weeks I have also been able to cycle so i've been making the most of the hot weather we’ve been having and getting some solid hours in on the bike and am starting to feel like myself again. I’ve very recently started running again and am trying to be sensible with my volume to avoid anymore problems further down the road.

Apologies that it was a short read but I really don’t have much else to write about. Just ticking training off day by day trying to do all the right things. Hopefully I can get a few of decent weeks of training in before my next race which is the world u23 Championship qualifying race in Sunderland.

I'll give you another update in my blog next month. Thanks for reading.
